ANSIBull 2.02 - Important Information!
First of all, this is a minor upgrade for ANSIBull. I had a couple of the
ANSI colors off a shade! Even though they were the right color on screen
in the color display box, the display file had an incorrect shade of the
color you selected (mainly BLACK).
It's all fixed now! At the request of Dan Drinnon of the Cellar Door RBBS,
the "vanilla" text files now have some lines and curlyques to fancy even
them up a bit. I did a few other peaks and tweaks here and there and you
now have a better product!
If you are upgrading from 2.01, all you have to do is place the version 2.02
ANSIBULL.EXE file in the current directory you have 2.01 in and you are good
to go. If you had colors not displaying properly in your old setup, just
redo the color selection process and you will be good to go.
[ Other Important Notes ]
With the new update to ANSIBull (2.0x), you have a couple of extra options to
configure to be ready to use it. It's simple and will only take you a moment.
Step 1.
DEFINING EXTERNAL STYLES
When you select CONFIG at the Main Slider Menu, you are now presented with an
additional option - External Styles. Select this option and enter in up to
20 names (DOS VALID NAME FORMAT!) for the styles you have created in
ANSIStyle. If you only have 1 or two, just press Enter through the rest of
the options and you will be asked if you wish to save it.
Step 2.
USING EXTERNAL STYLES
When you elect to GENERATE your newsletter, you are now presented with 2
new options: Use INTERNAL Styles or EXTERNAL styles. Internal styles are
built-in to ANSIBull and the Externals are those you have created using
ANSIStyle. Move the highlight bar to the option of your choice and press
Enter. It looks the same as before after that until you are finally
presented with the name of the style you would like to use (you entered
these in Step 1, above). Move the cursor to the one you want and hit
Enter and your display file will be created.
*NOTE*
Registered users of ANSIBull can have up to 20 defined external styles.
Non-registered versions will only allow 2.
*IMPORTANT!*
When you generate a display file created using an EXTERNAL style, the only
file generated is an ANSI display file! MONO and TEXT files are NOT
created! I will be working this for a future release, but this release
will be available to REGISTERED users only.
